Keeper-Hugo Lloris

In all honesty, I’m ashamed of how much stick the Frenchman has received on social media this week. Yes, he made a terrible error that gifted Chelsea a goal. That doesn’t change the fact that he’s still an excellent keeper.

Lloris has done more than enough in the last several years to deserve some rope from Pochettino. He’s still the club’s captain for goodness sakes. Hopefully he won’t have a lot to do against Burnley, but if he does, I expect him to put in an excellent bounce back performance.

Striker-Harry Kane

If you’re of the opinion that Kane shouldn’t start the match because it’s in August, then you really should find another hobby. Watching football and supporting Spurs might not be right for you.

The real danger of all this August curse nonsense is that Kane’s teammates might try too hard to get their talisman a goal. The attack cannot afford to focus too much on getting the monkey off Kane’s back. A goal for the prolific centre forward will come soon, it may even happen on Sunday without the assistance of divine intervention.
