Chelsea FC transfer target: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Oxlade-Chamberlain seems like a perfect fit for the Blues. He’s versatile as he can play a number of positions- including central midfield and wing-back. These two positions coincidentally are the two positions that are most in need of backup at Chelsea FC.

The 24-year-old will be an upgrade on current right wing-back Victor Moses, in my opinion, and stats back that up.

Last season, the Englishman 29 appearances for Arsenal FC although 13 of them were off the bench.

And in those appearances he managed to score 2 goals and made 7 assists. Not bad for a make-shift central midfielder/ wing-back.

He has a good discipline record with only incurring one yellow card all season. Although some may say that’s a bad thing as he’s not aggressive enough.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is also not a bad defender making him a perfect wing-back for Chelsea FC. He made an average of 1.3 tackles per game.

But it’s his speed and dribbling that will benefit Chelsea most. This season, he has made an average of 5.7 dribbles completed per game. Meaning, from 3 games, he has an average of dribbling the ball past defenders 5.7 times a game. Not bad.

Compare that with Victor Moses 2.5 dribbles per game this season and you have a clear winner.
