After a chaotic final day of the transfer window, the squads have now shaped up and no more changes can be made till January. A record-breaking £1.47 billion was spent by English Premier League clubs this summer. 14 of the 20 clubs in the league broke their transfer records. However, not every club will go into September happy, as some teams failed to sign their targets on Deadline Day.

Most notably, Manchester City were left to rue as their chase for Alexis Sanchez ended in disappointed. While Arsenal now have an unhappy player in their ranks, who will likely leave on a free transfer next season.

Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Liverpool had to make late moves to complete their transfer window. While Manchester United sat back and watched their rivals struggle to get players in, having done their business early in the summer.
