Arsenal
The Gunners started their transfer window with the shrewd signing of Sead Kolasinac from Schalke on a free transfer. They then spent £52 million on French forward Alexandre Lacazette. However, they have lost back to back games against Stoke and Liverpool since. On the transfer front, they sold Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Liverpool. They were all set to sell Alexis Sanchez to Manchester City before they were rejected by his prospected replacement Thomas Lemar.
Centre-back Gabriel left for Valencia. While Shkodran Mustafi also wanted to leave for Inter. All these things point to the disharmony in Arsenal’s squad. The Gunners have an inferior squad to all their Top 6 rivals. And their star players no longer want to play for the club. The added pressure of playing in the Europa League will not make things any easier for them.
With Everton spending well this summer, Arsenal will need to watch their backs. Or they could end up slipping out of the Top 6 this season.
