Pep Guardiola’s team spent the most money in the Premier League this season. They splashed a total of £217.3 million in their attempt to bolster their squad this summer. Manchester City brought in Benjamin Mendy, Danilo and Kyle Walker as defensive reinforcements. While Bernardo Silva arrived on the back of a superb season with AS Monaco. City also brought in goalkeeper Ederson from Benfica.
However they failed to land Alexis Sanchez and Johnny Evans on deadline day, to make it a bittersweet window for Manchester City. Pep Guardiola will be worried about the lack of defensive cover at the club.
But he will be pleased with his new signings. City have one of the strongest squads in the English Premier League. And after the amount of money they have spent, nothing less than a title challenge will appease the fans this season.
