1. Serge Aurier

Without a doubt, the player Tottenham fans most want to see on Saturday is fiery right back Serge Aurier. He’s arrived at the club with the highest level of acclaim and Spurs fans are concerned over Kieran Trippier’s ability to start at right back.

Unfortunately for Tottenham fans around the globe, the odds are stacked against seeing Aurier in the starting XI on Saturday. He only returned to London on Thursday after playing for the Ivory Coast during International Break. It’s hard to see him being ready to play a full 90 against the Toffees.

It’s also key to remember that Spurs have a massive Champions League fixture v Dortmund coming up midweek. As much as we’d all like to see Aurier play against Everton, it might be wise to hold him out until the Dortmund match. His pace could be the difference between Spurs earning a result or suffering a defeat against the Bundesliga power.

Even so, it shouldn’t shock anyone if Aurier finds a way into this match one way or another. Pochettino’s been coy about his chances, but that could just be a clever gambit to lower fan expectations. In the end I’d be surprised to see him start, but a second half cameo is a distinct possibility.
