Keeper-Hugo Lloris

Tottenham will need their French captain to be at his best on Wednesday. Not only will he need to make a spectacular save or two, he also needs to avoid the silly errors that have plagued his game as of late.

Expect Dortmund to press Lloris at every opportunity. This may be a match where he needs to play more long balls. Risking short passes to his defenders could be anathema for Spurs in this match. The club need Lloris to avoid individual errors throughout their Champions League run.

Substitute #1-Fernando Llorente

Tottenham surprised Chelsea by beating the Blues to Llorente on Deadline Day. This is exactly the sort of occasion where Llorente can put Tottenham over the top.

The only real question is whether or not he’ll come into the match to support Harry Kane or replace him. Curiously, it will be better for Spurs if it’s the former. If he enters the match for Harry Kane it likely means Tottenham enjoy a comfortable lead.

Substitute #2-Harry Winks

The young English midfielder will benefit greatly from the club’s injury issues in the midfield. As we mentioned previously, Wanyama won’t be available. It’s also very possible that Moussa Sissoko will miss out due to injury as well.

That means that Winks is likely to make an appearance late in the match. It’s hard for Dembele to complete a full 90 minutes at this point in his career. Winks could come on for him to provide fresh legs late in the match.

Substitute #3-Noone

Barring injury or a lopsided result, I have a hard time seeing Pochettino put anyone else in the match against Dortmund. From a Tottenham perspective, let’s hope it just takes 13 players to dispatch the Bundesliga powers.
