Central Midfielder-Christian Eriksen

Eriksen, like several of his teammates, could use a rest. He runs his socks off every time he steps onto the pitch. Unfortunately, Spurs can’t afford to give him the afternoon off today.

There’s also the reality that Eriksen has absolutely torched Swansea in the past. They are one of the Premier League clubs that the classy Dane has destroyed in the past. Pochettino will hand him the start and hope it happens again today.

Central Midfielder-Eric Dier

The majority of the defensive responsibility in the midfield is going to fall to Dier in this match. He just so happens to be the healthiest of Pochettino’s options.

Of course, Dier will also do everything he can to bomb forward and contribute to the club’s attack as well. As usual, the English midfielder will need to make sure he maintains his positional integrity to play his best football. It’s much more important for Dier to shield the centre backs than it will be to try to break through the Swans’ defence.

Central Midfielder-Dele Alli

You know that Dele was crushed to miss all of the fun against Dortmund. That will make him especially fired up to take on Swansea. Expect him to be an absolute nightmare for the Swans’ defense.

He, like Dier, will also need to make sure he puts in a solid shift on both ends of the pitch. The talented attacker can’t afford to ignore the defensive end of the pitch. Of course, when he pops up for two goals he’ll earn the right to play wherever he likes.
