Chelsea FC: Eden Hazard has once again hinted at possible future move away from Stamford Bridge but didn’t elaborate on where except ruling out PSG.

Chelsea FC winger Eden Hazard has once again admitted in a recent interview that he could move away from the club at some point but has ruled out any future move to PSG.

The Belgian star insisted that the only club in France that he would play for would be his old club Lille where he played before joining the Blues.

He told French media outlet SFR Sport that he would only want to play for his old club where he developed from a young age.

Hazard signed a senior contract for Lille at the age of 16-years-old but had been there in the youth academy since he was 14.

"“There are some big clubs, and it was an attractive league even when I played in it six years ago.“Big stars want to play in Ligue 1, and that is a good thing.  But if I am to return it will be to play for Lille – they are my club."

Hazard also admitted that he could one day leave Stamford Bridge but didn’t elaborate on where.

"“I still have a career to carve out, with a number of seasons ahead of me.“I am at Chelsea for the time being, and I don’t know where my career will take me in the future, but if I do go back to France it will be to play for Lille.”"

Note his wording “for the time being” this signals that Hazard is indeed mulling over a future move one day. He has also refused to rule out a move away from the club in the past, including earlier this year.

"‘I’m good here. I’m at one of the best clubs in the world and I think I’m going to stay for a couple of years. I’m very happy,’"

The fact that he could only commit to saying he would stay at Chelsea FC for two more years could indeed mean Hazard harbors an inherent desire to move to a club like Real Madrid.

More from Chelsea FC

This could come as hard reading for Chelsea FC fans to learn that Hazard could indeed move away. The 26-year-old has become an integral player for the first team and is undoubtedly one of the best ever players that has graced Stamford Bridge. Fans and the club will certainly not want him to leave.

But if the thought of playing in the lights and glamour at the Bernabeu for Real Madrid or another super club comes calling then it’s hard to fault him for wanting a move.

Chelsea FC have lost some of their world-class status in recent years despite winning the Premier League title last season. The problem is that Chelsea have largely failed in the past two transfer windows to improve their squad significantly and have missed out on key targets. This sends a message to fans and players worldwide that perhaps Chelsea FC are not world-class.

Signing players such as Danny Drinkwater in the recent transfer window may turn out to be good business for the club but it hardly screams world-class appeal.

If Chelsea FC want to keep players like Eden Hazard who is indeed world-class, then they’re going to have to improve their transfer dealings and will have to also stop selling so much young talent.

Chelsea let go of a number of good young players this season with the departures of Nathan Ake and Nathaniel Chalobah drawing widespread criticism. If Chelsea FC want to keep their world-class status as a club then they need to build their squad up to a world-class level.

And lastly, Chelsea FC should aim to reach at least the semi-finals, if not the final, of the Champions league every year. So this year will be a big year for manager Antonio Conte as in order to attract big players to the club then they’re going to have to become serious Champions League contenders too.
