Left Wingback-Ben Davies
As I mentioned in the open, Spurs will be thrilled to get their Welsh left back onto the pitch Saturday. He still isn’t the club’s most attacking threat, but there’s no arguing with the number of chances he’s created this season.
The reality is that Davies can pick a clever pass out when he’s allowed time and space on the ball. Fortunately for him, his teammates generally occupy the opposing defense enough to give him plenty of chances to do so. If West Ham allow him to ponder on the ball for too long, they’re likely going to pay for it by conceding a quality scoring chance.
Right Wingback-Serge Aurier
Kieran Trippier’s inclusion in the lineup against Barnsley was a clear indication of who will start this match. Serge Aurier has supplanted Trippier as Pochettino’s first choice right back and he’ll get the starting nod on Saturday.
Unlike Davies, Aurier is a true live wire going forward. He may not be the most conscientious defender in Europe, but there’s no questioning his athletic gifts. He’ll run his socks off against West Ham to get his team all three points.
