Tottenham held on for a 3-2 victory

For about an hour, it seemed that Tottenham were going to cruise to an easy win over West Ham. Then, all of a sudden, a legitimate London derby broke out. Fortunately for Mauricio Pochettino, his squad was able to grind out a crucial victory over the Hammers.

The match, of course, really turned in the 70th minute when Serge Aurier was sent off. While one could easily argue that his first yellow card was pretty soft, his second cautioning was thoroughly deserved. It was a foolish challenge that put his club at risk. In the end, his teammates were able to do enough to avoid disaster.

The struggles of the last half hour shouldn’t eradicate the beauty of the first hour. Spurs’ first half performance was dominant. At the break, Pochettino’s attack had two goals while his defense had only yielded one shot to West Ham. The opening 45 minutes will do a lot to prop up several player’s individual ratings.

Read on to discover which Tottenham players deserve your applause and which should receive your jeers. It was a pretty mixed bag for Spurs on the afternoon.
