Striker-Fernando Llorente

This is precisely the sort of match where Llorente should thrive. His lack of athleticism won’t show up nearly as much against a team from a lower league and his experience should make him a real danger man against APOEL.

Of course, the idea was that he’d be able to play instead of Kane in these sorts of matches. That won’t be the case today. Instead, he’ll benefit from the English talisman’s presence alongside him. It will be very interesting to see if the two hit men can build some chemistry together that could pay dividends down the line.

Keeper-Hugo Lloris

Perhaps Pochettino might have toyed with the idea of starting Michel Vorm if he had a full complement of outfield players to choose from. As it stands, look for the French captain to play his normal position in this match.

Michel Vorm will think himself a bit unlucky not to get an opportunity here, but it’s simply too big of a risk to take. Tottenham have to earn three points today. Anything else will be a massive failure. That’s why Lloris must start this match.
