Right back-Kieran Trippier

Regular readers know I’m not the English international’s biggest fan, but this is the sort of match he should be able to handle. Huddersfield do like to attack down the flanks, but they aren’t one of the Premier League’s most dangerous attacks.

Of course, Pochettino doesn’t have much choice of whom to start in this match. Serge Aurier is ineligible for selection after his silly red card at West Ham. Unless Pochettino wanted to give Kyle Walker-Peters a surprise start, Trippier is the only available option.

Left back-Ben Davies

Until Danny Rose recovers, Davies is going to continue to get the lion’s share of playing time at left back. Much like Pochettino’s decision at right back, his only other real option is to play Walker-Peters.

I won’t be shocked to see the English starlet come on a second half substitute, but starting him in this fixture would be a huge risk. Don’t expect Pochettino to get too cute here, the Welshman will get the starting nod.
