Chelsea FC: Former Brazilian star Oscar is contemplating a return to the Premier League and has stated that he would prefer a move back to the Blues.
Chelsea FC sold Oscar for £60m during the January transfer window after coach Antonio Conte deemed him surplus to requirements.
At the time, Chelsea fans all thought the big money offer from China was too good to pass up, but now, with how the current market is, it looks as if though it was a bargain for Shanghai SIPG.
The 26-year-old surprised many with his move, but now, he has admitted that money was the big motivation behind his move but he regrets missing out on selection for the Brazilian side in the World Cup.
"Of course it would be much better, much easier to be a part of the Brazil national team. So here it certainly got more difficult as I don’t have the same visibility as when I played in Europe."
Oscar also admitted that he would like to return to Europe and preferably back to Chelsea in order to gain more visibility in order to get back into the Brazilian national team.
And if you’re a Chelsea fan like me, and haven’t seen a single minute of Oscar playing in China then I highly recommend watching the below video. So rest assured, he’s still a class player and could provide some of those deliciously intricate one-twos and flick-on’s he did at Chelsea FC.
Asked if he would like to play in the Premier League again, Oscar told PL Brazil that he would like to return.
"Yes, I would go back! I’m still young, I’m 26.‘Who knows in two, three years to return to the Premier League… I would be very happy. And preferably for Chelsea, who opened the doors for me to return.’"
Oscar, who signed for Chelsea in 2012, was an influential player for the Blues as an attacking midfielder but he found he had lost his place in the team once Antonio Conte had changed the team system.
"‘Then he [Antonio Conte] changed the team’s way of playing in a 3-4-3 and I did not play anymore, I did not have a position to play, because I’m a more offensive midfielder and then changed a lot. ‘So I decided to leave too, but I left the door open.’"
Chelsea FC should take Oscar back in a heartbeat if the opportunity arises. Yes, they may have to pay the same amount of money they sold him for, but for me it’s crucial.
It was obvious against Manchester City that Chelsea FC lacked an attacking edge. Having two defensive midfielders in N’Golo Kante and Tiemoue Bakayoko is great, but, there’s no space for a creative attacking player to set up goals.
And, while Conte has tried to rectify this by including Cesc Fabregas into the team, it was obvious that Fabregas shouldn’t have played against Manchester City given his fatigue after the Champions League game two days prior.

Fabregas is ageing, and his stamina has never been the greatest. This is why getting Oscar back would be a brilliant move for Conte. Sure, Chelsea FC may get some flak for buying back a player they just sold, but getting him back is a necessity if the Blues plan on winning silverware this season.
Antonio Conte has once again changed the system and is playing now with three midfielders instead of two in a 5-3-2 formation. This allows for a third creative attacking midfielder in the team and apart from Danny Drinkwater who’s currently injured, so Fabregas is the only available player.
Signing Oscar would fill the third creative attacking midfielder spot which would allow for Fabregas to get a rest every once and awhile. Those two could battle it out for that position while Drinkwater could be cover for the two defensive midfield positions.
Chelsea FC may have to swallow some pride in getting Oscar back as they would become known as the club that sell their players and then buy them back-re Nemanja Matic and David Luiz.

But buying a creative attacking midfielder is a must now that Conte has changed his system and Fabregas suffers from fatigue and ageing.
