Several major stars won’t be lighting up the World Cup.

This set of World Cup qualifiers has been brutal as several traditionally big international teams were threatened with the disappointment of failing to make a World Cup.

Some, such as Argentina and Portugal, managed to book their place in Russia by winning their final game. Others are still waiting because they are in the round of playoffs with Italy and Croatia being among them.

Unfortunately, some teams had to suffer disappointment. Chile and the Netherlands are just a few of the nations that won’t be gracing the biggest tournament in football, which is a shame because their sets of fans are fantastic.

This inevitably means that some well-known players will be missing out, so here are the top 5 players that definitely won’t be at the World Cup. The list is in no particular order.
