Tottenham certainly didn’t dominate Bournemouth

Mauricio Pochettino is happy that Tottenham managed to earn three points against Bournemouth, but the Argentine gaffer certainly won’t be satisfied with the overall performance of his squad. Spurs failed to dominate the struggling Cherries in the manager their manager would have liked.

In truth, there was little to separate the two sides in the first half. Tottenham controlled the possession, but Bournemouth arguably had the best scoring chance. Only a world-class save from Hugo Lloris kept Eddie Howe’s team off the score sheet.

Fortunately, Spurs were a little better in the second stanza. They grabbed an early lead via a classy finish from Christian Eriksen, but couldn’t find the second goal to put the match to bed. Instead, it was a nervy 90 plus minutes for Pochettino’s men.

As you might expect, Tottenham’s performances on the match were pretty mixed. Some players made strong cases to be included in Pochettino’s starting XI at Real Madrid in the midweek. On the other hand, some players struggled enough to find their way to the bench against Los Blancos.
