Tottenham earned a crucial point against Real Madrid

I’m normally not one to celebrate a draw, but something about Tottenham’s 1-1 stalemate with Real Madrid just feels different. Earning a crucial Champions League point at the home of the defending champions feels like a huge result for Mauricio Pochettino’s squad.

The Spanish giants did dominate possession against their English opposition, but Spurs still managed to create quite a few chances. The combination of Harry Kane and Fernando Llorente up top seemed to give Zinedine Zidane’s squad quite a bit of trouble. If not for two brilliant second half stops by Keylor Navas, Tottenham could have left Spain with all three points.

As you might expect, the player ratings for Spurs in this match are going to be pretty good across the board. It wasn’t a master class performance by everyone, but there’s a lot of praise to go around. Only two of Pochettino’s men really played below their normal standard on this grand state. Read on to discover who starred in the match and who will need to pick up their play before hosting Real Madrid at Wembley.
