Manchester City: Five reasons they win the PL title
By Josh McSwain
5. Flaws in their English competitors
Looking around the Premier League, there are some other good teams but they all have major question marks that City does not. I’m not saying that City has no weaknesses as no team is perfect, but take a look at the big problems some of their Premier League competitors have:
Manchester United: first, can they stay afloat without Paul Pogba for the foreseeable future? Second, do they have another guy who can score consistently besides Romelu Lukaku? After the first few games it looked like Anthony Martial looked great but he has cooled off. Lastly, we all know that Jose Mourinho likes to sit back and defend in big games. That style won’t work against City, even though it did against a banged up Liverpool side at Anfield.

Chelsea: The reigning champions have been up and down this season. The followed up an opening day loss to Burnley with a win over Tottenham. But they were not just the first team to lose to Crystal Palace but the first team to even allow a goal to the South London side. While Alvaro Morata has been a great addition to the club, only he and Marcos Alonzo have multiple goals in Premier League play. Eden Hazard was arguably the best player in the Premier League last year (top rating on whoscored.com) but has fallen far short of the same form this season.
Tottenham: I’m still not sure what to think of this team. They have looked very good in their demolitions of Everton and Huddersfield. But they were hardly convincing in a 1-0 win over Bournemouth and had a perplexing 0-0 draw at Swansea. I can forgive their loss to Chelsea, but while this team has all the talent to contend for and win the Premier League; it seems like they always come up short when it matters.
Next: City star may be getting too expensive
Bottom line is there is no other team that has the same level of talent that City does. Guardiola is one of the best managers in all of Europe. He succeeded under pressure before at Barcelona and Bayern Munich. Barring a barrage of injuries there is no question that they will be lifting the trophy come May.
