Tottenham need to come back to Earth quickly

Mauricio Pochettino faces a big task trying to get his Tottenham squad back to Earth after this week’s magical draw at Real Madrid. Fortunately, the talent Liverpool possess should be sufficient to get the attention of the entire Spurs squad.

Perhaps Tottenham would have preferred an easier opponent this weekend, but the Premier League schedule makers didn’t do them any favours. Spurs will need to play their best football to take care of Jurgen Klopp’s squad. The diminished home field advantage at Wembley will once again be an issue for Pochettino’s men.

The real question about this match from Spurs’ perspective is how much will Pochettino take away from the Real Madrid draw. He caught Los Blancos off guard by starting Fernando Llorente and Harry Kane together in a unique striking partnership. Some fans are calling for the Argentine gaffer to deploy the same strategy against the Reds.

Look for Pochettino, once again, to zig when everyone else expects him to zag. He’ll go back to playing one striker in an effort to strengthen his midfield in this match. Read on to discover just how Spurs will line up on Sunday.
