Tottenham emphatically trounced Liverpool

It might have been reasonable to expect Tottenham to have a bit of a Champions League hangover after their eventful fixture at Real Madrid. Unfortunately for Jurgen Klopp and company, Spurs were sharper than ever in the 4-1 win over Liverpool.

Mauricio Pochettino’s troops were clinical from the opening whistle. Harry Kane scored the first of his two goals on the afternoon just four minutes into the match. The English talisman set the tone for his club and the comfortable victory they were able to secure.

Unlike some Spurs matches as of late, this was a true team victory in every sense of the word. Kane will get a lot of the headlines, but he had a lot of company in terms of playing a terrific match. It’s pretty difficult to slight even one Tottenham player for having a below average match against the Reds.

Instead, these player ratings will be more about dividing the good performances from the great ones. That’s a very pleasant exercise for Tottenham fans. Read on to discover which of Pochettino’s players shone the brightest against Liverpool on Sunday.
