Hugo Lloris-8

Some placed blame at the Frenchman’s feet for Salah’s goal, but to me that was simply an excellent finish by a world-class attacker. Yes, Lloris could have jumped off his line to swipe the chance away, but he did have defenders back. Sometimes talented goal scorers just beat keepers.

In the second half, he made a terrific save that kept Liverpool from really getting back into the match. Coutinho ripped a shot into the top corner, but Lloris showed a strong hand and parried it away from goal.

He didn’t make a world-class save like he did against Karim Benzema earlier in the week, but he did plenty to help his club win the match. Nitpicking his performance against Liverpool is a foolish exercise.

Moussa Sissoko-6

The Frenchman came on for Son with 20 minutes left in the match and didn’t make much of an impact. Of course, some of that was by design. Pochettino brought Sissoko on to help melt down the match. He didn’t do anything great, but he did his job.

Eric Dier-5.5

The Englishman started on the bench due to illness, and looked a bit sluggish when he came on as a substitute. He struggled with the speed of Liverpool’s attack, but he did help close out the win for Spurs.

Fernando Llorente-6

Tottenham’s fan base held their collective breath as Kane laboured off the pitch in favour of Llorente. Fortunately the Spurs’ talisman is perfectly fine, and Llorente was able to kill off the match during his brief cameo.
