Left Back-Danny Rose

The talented Englishman would prefer to be in the starting XI at Old Trafford this weekend, but he’s not ready for that occasion yet. Instead, look for Pochettino to give him an opportunity to play a full 90 minutes in this Cup fixture.

For Rose, it’s just about getting onto the pitch and regaining his match sharpness. He clearly needs to get back into playing shape as well. If Rose can play an effective shift on Wednesday, he should be in line for more starting opportunities as the season progresses.

Centre Back-Juan Foyth

The young Argentine deserves the chance to start this match. He isn’t going to see a ton of Premier League and Champions League playing time, so these Cup matches are crucial for his development. Look for another confident and assured performance from Foyth.

Centre Back-Davinson Sanchez

Foyth won’t be left exposed in this match. He’ll have Sanchez lined up next to him to keep him out of trouble. The talented Colombian has already made himself a regular starter for Pochettino and will look to keep the momentum going against West Ham. Per usual, he’ll serve as Tottenham’s last line of defense in front of the keeper.

Right Back-Kyle Walker-Peters

Walker-Peters has every right to feel a bit frustrated over his lack of playing time this season. He was excellent in the season opener against Newcastle, but has been crowded out of the right back rotation by Serge Aurier and Kieran Trippier.

This match will give Walker-Peters another chance to make a mark in Pochettino’s mind. Look for him to get forward early and often against Bilic’s squad. He’ll keep pushing for playing time until he finds a spot on the field for Spurs.
