This may prove to be a hot take among those who follow Arsenal, however from my point of view the club should not sack Arsene Wenger, as he is not the sole problem at the North London club.
Arsene Wenger has been the gaffer at Arsenal since 1996 and has arguably been the most successful manager in the history of the club. He has led the Gunners to the Premier League title 3 times, including the massively successful “Invincible” title winning side of 2003-2004. You may remember, that team that did not lose a match in the league season.
However since that season, the club has not reached those lofty highs. In recent years the club has become a bit of a joke: celebrating 4th place finishes as if they are trophies and perpetually getting knocked out of the Champions League. The Arsenal manager have confirmed the board will review his position following the end of the Premier League season.
However, the question many Arsenal supporters should ask themselves is “Who would be better?”
What name is out there that would reasonably join Arsenal? Arsenal, despite having world-class facilities and an excellent location, are a club that’s owner and board seem reticent to spend on big money players.
This spending is necessary to compete in a league as strong as the Premier League. The excuses of paying down the debt for the Emirates stadium seem to have dried up, as the Premier Leagues massive television contracts plus lucrative kit sponsorships from Puma offered additional funds to compensate for this debt.

Also, while they have not won the league, Arsenal have claimed 3 FA Cups in the past 5 seasons, even beating title-winning side Chelsea in last season’s cup final. His impact on the game in England can also not be overstated, as his knowledge of young stars in the French league led to many continental stars coming to England and having massive success.
Incidentally, the loss of Arsene Wenger would mean far fewer hilarious outbursts on ArsenalFanTV, which would deprive fans everywhere of enjoyment.
Instead of sacking the manager, Arsenal’s board and owners should realize that in the modern game money needs to be spent. A major capital-city based team that hasn’t won a league title in over a decade should be seeking and signing major players.

Open the war chest, get some big players, and let ole Wenger work that French football magic for Arsenal once again.
