Manchester United v Tottenham: How Spurs will line up without Harry Kane
Second striker-Dele Alli
Rather than playing the precocious attacker deeper than normal, I believe Pochettino is going to unleash him as a second striker. Dele certainly has an eye for goal and his ability to score from absolutely nowhere could be vital for Tottenham.
He also has a tireless motor that will allow him to harass the United defense all day long. He’ll look to bother Mourinho’s defenders whenever they dally on the ball. Look for Dele to be the key for Pochettino’s press when he elects to employ that tactic.
Striker-Fernando Llorente
I think Son Heung-Min has a chance to start here, but playing Llorente is the steadier option. Tottenham may need a target man who can serve as an outlet in times of stress. Llorente is the best version of that player at Pochettino’s disposal.
Llorente isn’t going to be counted on to run hard for 90 minutes. Pochettino will try to get a little over an hour of solid play before he gives way to a quicker attacker. The stately Spaniard will be desperate to score a goal for his new club before he departs.
