The exclusion of Antonio Valencia from the 2018 World Cup is perhaps less surprising. The Manchester United full back is an Ecuadorian, and Ecuador have only managed 3 FIFA World Cup appearances.
However, they do house some pretty impressive talent, and Antonio Valencia is the best of the bunch.
He’s known for being the powerhouse in the Premier League, and the same can be said when he’s on international duty. However, his abilities weren’t enough to secure his country a place at the 2018 World Cup.
He joins Eric Bailly in the list of players who won’t be in the World Cup, but this will certainly push him to achieve even more with Manchester United this season.
