Manchester United: 5 January transfer targets for Jose Mourinho

Manchester United have made an impressive start to the season. They lie second in the league and have all but qualified for the UEFA Champions League Round of 16.

But despite their start, Manchester United are already five points behind their local rivals Manchester City in the Premier League. There have also been concerns over the lack of service star striker Romelu Lukaku has received in recent games. While the injury crisis in the middle of the park has left Manchester United with only two midfielders to pick from in recent games. Concerns also remain in the left-back role, with Ashley Young being forced to deputize in recent games.

All of that suggests that the Red Devils could be active in the January transfer window as they look to challenge for the league title. Jose Mourinho failed to get his “fourth signing” in the summer transfer window. And he could make an attempt to complete that transfer once the transfer window reopens in January.
