Tottenham need to avoid a hangover against Crystal Palace
You can’t blame Tottenham fans for still being a bit intoxicated after Spurs’ magical win over Real Madrid. Unfortunately, Mauricio Pochettino’s squad does not have the same luxury. They must regain their figurative sobriety before taking on Crystal Palace.
Unfortunately for Pochettino, he’ll take on Roy Hodgson’s squad without a few of his top stars. Hugo Lloris and Toby Alderweireld both sustained injuries against Real Madrid that will keep them out of this match. They will join Victor Wanyama and Erik Lamela on Spurs’ injured list.
Even without those luminaries, Spurs have enough quality to take care of Palace. Hodgson has the Eagles playing better, but they still find themselves on the bottom of the Premier League table by a full three points. This is precisely the sort of match that Tottenham have to handle at Wembley.
The biggest danger for Pochettino will be putting out a starting XI that isn’t hungry enough to score goals. The Argentine gaffer will be careful to make sure that doesn’t happen. Read on to discover the offensive-minded lineup Pochettino will dispatch.
