Liverpool, like many other Premier League clubs, will already be counting down the days until the January transfer window. There’s still quite some time before the festive period comes around and teams start their business, but there has already been some positive Liverpool transfer news.
Jurgen Klopp’s men are known among the Premier League for having quite the fiery attack. However, at the start of this season and midway through the last, we’ve seen just how much an injury can affect the squad’s morale.
No matter how strong you are, there’s always room for improvement. The recent reports have suggested that Liverpool won’t let their defensive woes stop them from strengthening their attack.

There’s no doubt that the acquisition of Werner would help to improve a near-perfect Liverpool front-three. He supplies both versatility as well as a keen eye for goal, which will serve Liverpool well in the games which they struggle to find the back of the net, which is why fans will be relieved with this Liverpool transfer news.
Werner was linked with a move to German giants Bayern Munich, but the RB Leipzig sporting director was quick to put these whispers to bed.
"“We had a pleasant lunch with FC Bayern. We talked about everything, but we did not talk about Timo Werner.” – Oliver Mintzlaff (RB Leipzig sporting director)"
In the Bundesliga this season, the German has directly contributed to eight goals in nine appearances. To provide more context, two of those were assists whilst the other six were goals. He also played a part in Germany’s Confederations Cup win, as he netted once in his two appearances.
He offers something different to Roberto Firmino. Where Firmino is more tailored to linking the attacking play, Werner offers a more clinical eye for goal. Just like he has been for Leipzig so far this season, he’ll look to be Liverpool’s main talisman should he move to Merseyside.
