Faouzi Ghoulam

Another player out of contract in the summer that Chelsea should make a run at in January is Faouzi Ghoulam.  The Napoli wing-back was statistically almost even with Alex Sandro last season and can be had for far less than the apparent record fee Juventus want for the Brazilian.

Antonio Conte’s system requires a great deal of athleticism from its wingback and Chelsea don’t have a good option to replace Marcos Alonso.  The Spanish defenders play has been lacking this season and many think it is due to not only fatigue but a lack of competition.  Alonso is far too comfortable in his status in the team and Ghoulam would add world-class competition.

Ghoulam is a very important part of Napoli’s team and Pep Guardiola even admits they may be the best team in Europe (maybe barring his City).  It would be a phenomenal addition to Chelsea that they could then again make for little money due to the fact that Ghoulam will be out of contract in the summer.

Chelsea should offer between 7-12 million pounds for Ghoulam and Napoli will likely give in as he has stated he has no intention of signing a new deal.
