Both teams are failing to live up to pre-season expectations and the managers are starting to feel the pressure.

The dominant theme going in to this huge game is that neither side has a clear identity. This lack of a clear identity is bringing major issues because they aren’t getting the desired results. Although, the reasons for this are different for both teams with Atlético Madrid being a victim of their own success. Whereas, Real Madrid have always lacked a clear structure under Zinedine Zidane.

Both teams won their last league games prior to the international break, which takes the pressure off slightly. However, each of the potential results affects at least one of the teams in a bad way. Therefore, this could be seen as a pivotal match for the two teams’ seasons. The pressure that both sides are under only adds to the excitement, and it could make this a great match to watch for fans and neutrals alike.
