Recent Manchester United news has suggested that Paul Pogba’s return from injury has suffered another setback.

It’s bad news for the red side of Manchester, as they have been struggling to create from midfield with the absence of the French sensation. They started the season incredibly well, scoring a shipload of goals in every match, and Paul Pogba was integral to that.

Since he suffered his unfortunate injury when playing as captain against Basel, Manchester United have adopted a different playing style. It seems to work, however it’s not as exciting as when Paul Pogba plays, which is understandable given his talent.

There were any calls that the Paul Pogba’s return from injury would only be round the corner. However, recent Manchester United news from Metro claims that they will not risk Pogba against Newcastle United this Saturday.

Granted, it’s not the biggest game in the world, but many would have hoped to see the dynamic midfielder back in action.

However, you could take this as good news. Manchester United travel to Switzerland to face Basel again, and Paul Pogba, who is back in training action, will be looking to mark his return against the team who put him out.

Jose Mourinho is obviously treating the Newcastle game wisely, and he’ll look to prioritise the Champions League fixture on Wednesday. The Portuguese boss will come up against an old enemy of his in Rafael Benitez as his team host the Tyneside team.

Being without Paul Pogba, Jose Mourinho will have to apply creativity to the centre of the park, as well as stability to help see off the possibility of a Newcastle counter attack.

A win for Manchester United would do them a world of good. With the North London derby fast approaching, either Arsenal, Spurs, or both will drop points and Manchester United could really make some ground.
