Arsenal receive some bad news about one of their star forwards ahead of the clash with Manchester United

Arsenal vs. Manchester United has always been a game full of star players on both sides of the ball. The likes of Henry and Cantona led the lines and the matches were filled with tense moments and plenty of skill. With Arsenal currently in fourth and United in second, this match will be no different.

There will be one key absentee in the Arsenal lineup, however. New signing Alexandre Lacazette will miss the thrilling encounter as he has reportedly picked up a groin injury. This is not good news for Arsenal, as Lacazette was just starting to hit his stride in the Premier League.

He may not be grabbing the headlines every week, but Lacazette has had a very solid season thus far. With seven goals and one assist on the season, the French forward is proving that he has what it takes to make it in the ‘world’s best league’.

Luckily for Arsenal, they still have a wealth of attacking options to fill vacancy left by Lacazette’s injury. Giroud could see his first start in the league this season, with Sanchez and Ozil playing on either side of him. Wenger could also stick Sanchez in the middle with Iwobi or Welbeck interchanging during the match.

Unfortunately for Manchester United, they are dealing with injury problems of their own. Mourinho and his men have a bit more to deal with, though, as both key defenders Eric Bailly and Phil Jones will be missing the match. Fellaini is also set to sit out, so United will be a bit short in the back. Expect an even stronger emphasis on parking the bus from Mourinho as he travels to The Emirates.

Though it does slightly hinder Arsenal in their team selection, the exclusion of Lacazette should not be that big of a worry. Wenger has multiple ways to deal with the situation and can make plenty of tactical switches during the match if needed. The contest is still set to be one of the best matches of the season so far, regardless of the players that will be missing it.
