Liverpool’s five most underrated players: Which Reds deserve more credit?
5. Joe Gomez
The youngster has not attracted too much attention from the media, but that is not to say that his performances have not been respectable.
Gomez has been solid at the back for Liverpool, and while Klopp’s men have struggled defensively, he is at little fault. Despite his lack of experience, he has rarely made any serious errors, and though right back is not his natural position, Gomez has done well to offer an outlet on the wing when venturing forward, as he did at Stoke this past week when he played an important role in Sadio Mane’s opener.
The England international recently earned his first call to the senior side, and while a place in their World Cup squad is unlikely, he has a bright future ahead of him should he maintain his level of performances.
