The giants from Turin have their eyes on Can, and could take advantage of Liverpool’s desire to not lose him for nothing next summer.

Juventus want a midfielder at the next transfer window, and right now, it looks like Emre Can could

be the one that they bring in. The 23-year-old German has shown plenty of potential already and is still young enough to improve. Current Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira is 30 years old, and because he can’t play every match anymore, Can makes sense as a future investment.

However, Liverpool aren’t ready to give him up easily. He’s one of Liverpool’s regular starters and out of the 15 matches played so far in the Premier League, Can has appeared in 12 of them. There’s no apparent replacement for Can at the defensive midfielder spot, and if he leaves in January, his impact will be missed very much for the rest of the season.

If Liverpool doesn’t sell Can in January, though, they run the risk of losing him in the summer and not getting anything in return. According to reports, Can hasn’t negotiated with Liverpool for a new contract yet. Juventus, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid are all interested, and it doesn’t look like Liverpool will be able to keep him once his contract runs out after this season.

Juventus, on the other hand, could make sure that Liverpool gets something in return for letting the midfielder go. They want to avoid the bidding war that could come with waiting, and believe that they would save money even after paying a transfer fee.

Despite the interest from multiple clubs, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has stated that the club wants to keep him, and that it is important that the club convinces him to stay. While it looks like Can will leave, Liverpool shouldn’t be discounted in this scenario.

It also looked like Coutinho would leave at the last window, but Liverpool was able to keep him. If they can do the same with Can, it would further help their reputation as a club that can keep its top players.
