4. Sevilla v Roma

I’ve chosen this fixture because I believe it has the potential to be a really open tie, with both teams having significant strengths and weaknesses.

Sevilla are much more attack minded than Roma, managing to net 12 times in their group, despite finishing second. Roma, on the other hand, pride themselves on their defensive record in the Champions League. The Italian side have conceded just 6 times, which is exactly half of what Sevilla have allowed.

Roma topped both Chelsea and Atletico Madrid, so they shouldn’t be overlooked. Sevilla, on the other hand, have a very impressive European record, winning 6 European honours.

My prediction

Although I believe the game will be open, I would have to tip Roma to merge victorious if this was to be a Champions League draw. It’s one of those games that can go either way, and I would love to predict a draw, but that’s not possible.
