Striker: Sergio Aguero

This feels really harsh on Romelu Lukaku, I feel like he deserves an honorable mention. However, when you’re compared to Sergio Aguero, there’s only going to be one answer, which is why Sergio Aguero takes the striker role in this Manchester United v Manchester City combined XI.

Just like David Silva, the Argentine has been consistently good for the Sky Blues, I mean, the records speak for themselves. Earlier on this month, Thierry Henry described him as a ‘joke’ and the Frenchman wasn’t wrong.

Having a player as illusive as elusive as Sergio Aguero is a true asset to a manager, even one in the calibre of Pep Guardiola.

Manchester United fans know all about him, and Jose Mourinho will have him in mind when he runs through his game-plan to his team. He’ll look to isolate the Argentine as much as possible, because if you give him the slightest sniff of a goal, chances are you’ll concede.
