Left back: Ashley Young

Despite what many may think about the English wide-man, he’s been consistently good for Manchester United for many years now. He seems to be even more of a revelation under Jose Mourinho, so he’s a must in this Manchester United v Manchester City combined XI.

Just like his full back counterpart Kyle Walker, he’s renowned for his attacking prowess. He’s tallied 3 assists and 2 goals so far this season in this defensive position. He’s had to adapt many times over the years, as managers have come and gone, but he’s acclimatised to new positions well.

You’ll often see him float balls into the box, and nine times out of ten it’s a good delivery. He’ll look to test Nicolas Otamendi and Vincent Kompany in the air, as he’ll be providing either Romelu Lukaku or Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
