Centre midfield: David Silva

Another classy midfield option, it feels like there’s too much quality on offer. Well, it probably feels that way because it is the case. David Silva takes the third midfield slot in this Manchester United v Manchester City combined XI.

The Spaniard has consistently come up with the goods during his time in Manchester, and although he’s getting on the older side, his technical ability hasn’t been lost, if anything, it’s only gotten better.

He, like Kevin de Bruyne, prides himself on his passing ability, which is always handy when you’re playing behind one of Europe’s most elite strikers in Sergio Aguero. He and his Argentine teammate will be looking to replicate the goods they’ve been producing for Manchester City over the years in this match, and we expect nothing less than that.
