5. Tyler Adams

Tyler Adams is 18 years old, a professional soccer player, and still makes the hour and a half commutes from his parents house to his training sessions with the New York Red Bulls.

Adams has been with the Red Bulls since he was 11 years old and emerged as a regular starter for the team in 2017 by making 32 appearances and scoring two goals.

The teenager also received his first cap with the National Team against Portugal in November where he played the full 90.

Adams appears to be one of the America’s brightest budding stars and many coaches are taking note including his coach Jesse Marsh who compares him to former Italian great Gennero Gattuso. Marsh said,

"“One of his (Adams) big strengths is his ability to run. Gattuso was always a guy that broke up a lot of plays but also a good footballer and a big winner. I think that will end up defining Tyler’s career as well,” Marsch said. “I think this is a kid that will win a lot of tournaments, a lot of championships. He already has one under his belt. It will be fun to watch him the coming years.”"

Adams won’t be in Major League Soccer long. In fact, there are two big European clubs looking at the youngster.

Matthew Klimberg of Calciomercato.com says,”

"The defensive-midfielder has already been looked at by Valencia, and now it appears Roma has taken note. According to a source with the club, while a transaction is not imminent – nor is it clear whether they’ve begun making overtures to his MLS club – it is confirmed that Adams is on their radar."

Adams is a great talent and could have had potential to be on the 23 man roster for the World Cup in Russia had the U.S. qualified.
