9. Roberto Firmino – Liverpool

The Brazilian is quite a bit different to the other attackers in this list. He’s not the most potent ‘goal scorer’ in the world, but he really does excel in his role.

His role in a team is to act as the link between midfield and attack. You’ll often see him drop deeper than your usual number nine and receive possession, before passing it out wide to the wingers, who are usually more than capable of receiving possession.

This means that he’s more often involved in Liverpool’s goals than directly scoring them himself, even though he is a great finisher. Liverpool have a lot of quality up front, so Firmino is perfect to fill the slot and not aim for all the glory himself.

So, although he’s not always going to be near the top of the goals tally, he does make it onto this list of the best strikers in the Premier League.
