Keeper-Hugo Lloris

Lloris isn’t the best distributor of the ball in Europe, but he is one of the continent’s top shot stoppers. That alone is enough to get him the start against Burnley.

Don’t overlook how much the back five will help the French captain. It greatly simplifies what he needs to do with the ball at his feet. Allowing Lloris to stick to his strengths is a great plan by Pochettino.

Bench-Erik Lamela

I wanted to find room for the talented Argentine in the starting XI, but the formation isn’t a great fit for him. He’ll still get on the pitch in the second half. Look for his contagious energy to give the Spurs squad a nice boost.

Bench-Fernando Llorente

Expect to see the gangly Spaniard as a late substitution. He’ll likely replace Son in an effort to give Tottenham more of an aerial threat. Let’s hope it comes along with a two goal advantage.

Bench-Moussa Sissoko

At some point during the second half, Pochettino will want a bit more direct drive from his midfield. Sissoko’s insertion into the lineup isn’t a perfect solution, but he does run forward with the ball at his feet.
