Moussa Sissoko-6

The French international came in early in the second half to complete Pochettino’s Mousa for Moussa substitution. Sissoko gets a lot of well-deserved criticism from Spurs fans, but this match doesn’t deserve the negativity.

Sissoko wasn’t great, but he did his job. He isn’t ever going to live up to his £30 million transfer price tag, but he has a role in the current squad. He came into Pochettino’s midfield and made sure the club didn’t miss Dembele in this match. That, in and of itself, is valuable.

Erik Lamela-6.5

The talented Argentine continues to repay the club’s patience in his recovery process. The way he’s playing is well enough to get into almost any starting XI in Europe. Unfortunately, Son’s recent brilliance will keep Lamela on the bench for the foreseeable future.

Even so, he has a chance to be a real wild card off the bench. He showed off his offensive creativity during the second half of this match. It would have been easy to see him notch an assist or score a goal of his own. The time is coming for Lamela.

Harry Winks-5.5

Winks came on as a late substitute for Dele so he didn’t have a real opportunity to impact the match. Curiously, he did come in as an attacking midfielder instead of a member of Pochettino’s double-pivot.

In my estimation that’s where Winks’ future must lie if he wants to stay at Tottenham. This wasn’t a memorable day for the young Englishman, but it was good to see him back on the pitch after his debacle at City.
