Manchester United’s Class of ‘92 Full Time: Giggs, Neville, Nelson Mandela, Bacon sandwiches, Salford

The illustrious Manchester United’s ‘Class of ’92’ are back in Sky’s latest instalment of the reality-football-show. This third season of this fly-on-the-wall, observational, tell all, authentic, documentary is often hilarious and captivating.

The television show follows Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville, Paul Scholes, Phil Neville and Nicky Butt as chairmen of Salford FC. In this third series, we find the club with famous owners, promoted twice to the sixth tier of the English league.

Former Red Devil Gary Neville is as logical, explanatory, outspoken while being as likeable as his tough co-managers. Scholes’ dry sense of humour is especially good. From grass-roots to executive lounge meetings at Old Trafford where contracts or careers are made or broken, we see all.

The loyal committee members/builders/refreshment staff are wonderfully down-to-earth with a great sense of humour. Rough and ready Salford exudes passion while being contrastingly caring for the club in darker days. Scenes of poignancy are notable. Now Gary Neville has revealed that the club is also discussing fees with Sky for televised fixtures.

Must watch

It is truly revealing having Giggs, Scholes, Butt as well as the Neville brothers fully involved and committed to feature in this innovative programme. Former “Key to the City of Salford” recipient, Giggs strong-arms the Salford Building Control using celebrity. Nelson Mandela name dropping develops into Neville’s pranking.

I’m sure Sir Alex Ferguson would be especially fascinated by his retired pros’ breakfast spreads in their catered office Manchester United’s ground. Furthermore, cling-film-wrapping a coach’s car is unmissable!
