Dele is undoubtedly Tottenham’s best villain

Tottenham managed to dispatch a pesky Swansea side 2-0 despite a torrential downpour and some really poor performances from their starting XI. Fortunately for Mauricio Pochettino, Dele Alli killed off the match in the closing minutes with boos raining down from the Swansea faithful.

It’s safe to say that Dele welcomes the abuse at this point in his young career. It’s almost as if he can’t play his best football until he’s embroiled in some measure of controversy out on the pitch. It was relatively mild today, but Swansea fans who jeered him for going down too easily managed to coax better football out of the English youngster.

Perhaps some of his Spurs teammates should start getting booed as well. Tottenham took an early lead on an offside goal by Fernando Llorente, but failed to kill the match off. That forced Pochettino to play Harry Kane in the game’s closing minutes. Kane repaid Pochettino’s faith by providing Dele a beautiful assist for his killer second goal.

Don’t let the 2-0 scoreline fool you. This was a tense affair in the second half. Tottenham need to play better against weak opposition if they want to secure a spot in the top four. Read on to discover which players need a thrashing from Pochettino after the win at Swansea.
