Fernando Llorente-6

I’d love the opportunity to praise Llorente for an excellent match, but he simply didn’t play one. He deserves some credit for his goal even though he was clearly offside, but he didn’t create enough chances for me. In total fairness, his best movement of the match was incorrectly ruled offside instead of giving him a chance to beat the keeper one v one.

It’s possible that Llorente is just too different from Harry Kane to mesh well with his teammates. He thrives on aerial service and the Tottenham midfield seem to be oblivious to that reality. As such, he spends a lot of time hanging around the penalty box and watching play unfold. That isn’t enough for me. He has to be better or he’ll get replaced in the transfer market.

Harry Kane-6.5

I would have preferred Kane not be called into this match, but it proved to be the right decision by Pochettino. His brilliant turn and subsequent aerial ball to Dele cemented the win for Spurs.

He didn’t really provide much else, but what more do you want out of a second half substitute? The important thing will be for Kane to play well against West Ham on Thursday.

Hugo Lloris-6

This wasn’t the Frenchman’s best match, and he was a bit fortunate to preserve a clean sheet. He struggled mightily to deal with the ball in the air on the few occasions Swansea were able to lift a pass into the box.

Other than that, Lloris didn’t have very much to do. It was an average performance for Tottenham’s keeper but he did well enough to give his club all three points.
