Left back-Ben Davies

In a perfect world, Pochettino wouldn’t consider starting the same left back twice in a 48 hour time span. Unfortunately, the injury to Rose will force Davies into his second start in a row.

More from Playing for 90

The only other real alternative would be to hand Kyle Walker-Peters his second Premier League start. I’d love to see Pochettino go that route, but I can’t see him taking such a big risk. Three points are required here and a tired Davies will have to play well enough to achieve that goal for Tottenham.

Right back-Serge Aurier

Fortunately, Pochettino does have an option to Kieran Trippier at right back. The plan was always to give Trippier the start at Swansea so Serge Aurier would be fully prepared to play against West Ham.

Aurier must keep his cool in what could easily turn into a heated affair. The Ivory Coast defender needs to stay on the pitch for the full 90 minutes in this one. It’s a big opportunity for the talented, but enigmatic defender to prove he’s learned from his past transgressions against West Ham.
