Gareth Bale won’t leave Real Madrid for Bayern

Real Madrid are willing to let Gareth Bale go for the right price, but the talented Welshman won’t be taking his talents to Germany. Despite a massive offer from Bayern Munich, Bale has repeated his desire to only leave Spain for a fantastic return to England.

Reports from Spain allege that Bayern were willing to spend £100 million to get the deal done. In theory, Bale could provide the Bundesliga giants a perfect heir to Arjen Robben’s throne on the wing. His commercial power would also be a nice boost to Bayern’s bottom line. Remember, they are just as concerned with being a global brand as a top football club.

Unfortunately for Florentino Perez and company, Bale isn’t willing to move to Bavaria. Instead, he’s determined to return to England once his days in Spain are through. In particular, Bale would like to engineer a move to Manchester United or Tottenham. It’s believed that a sensational return to Spurs would top the Welshman’s wish list if possible.

Add all of this up and it’s going to be a very interesting summer in the Spanish capital. Manager Zinedine Zidane is on thin ice with Los Blancos and it’s very possible a managerial change will happen sooner, rather than later. If that does happen, it’s likely that significant changes in the Real Madrid squad would follow. Selling Bale for a massive fee would arm a new manager with plenty of transfer cash to make the squad in his image.

If Bale is made available, it could spark one of the most intense transfer wars in Premier League history. It’s no secret that Jose Mourinho has been desperate to bring Bale to Old Trafford. It’s unclear whether or not the club’s recent acquisition of Alexis Sanchez might change his thinking.

Mauricio Pochettino hasn’t made his feelings about Bale public, but the romantic story of him returning to Tottenham would be hard to resist. Bale broke the hearts of Spurs fans everywhere when he left for Spain. Seeing him come back to the club to open a new stadium would be just the sort of story that makes sport so special.

The odds favour Gareth Bale moving to England this summer, but a lot can change at Real Madrid between now and then. If nothing else, it’s fun to think about Tottenham and Manchester United engaging in a bitter transfer battle to bring the Welshman back to the league where he achieved stardom.
