Right back-Kieran Trippier

We’ll start the projection with Pochettino’s weakest selection. If Serge Aurier were fit, he’d certainly get the starting nod here. Unfortunately, he isn’t. That means Trippier gets the starting nod over Kyle Walker-Peters.

The Englishman will have his hands full with Alexis Sanchez all match long. Simply put, he’s got no chance of containing the Chilean by himself. He’ll need lots of assistance if Spurs are going to keep Alexis quiet down their right flank. If Trippier can hold his own it will be a big boost for his club.

Left back-Danny Rose

Several weeks ago everyone seemed to think Danny Rose would be playing for Manchester United by the time this match rolled around. As it stands, I’m backing him to make his return to the lineup in this crucial fixture.

Truthfully, it won’t shock me if Pochettino plays it safe and goes with Ben Davies instead. Rose is the better play though. He lives for big occasions like this. Rose’s athleticism and competitive spirit would be huge boosts for Tottenham in this tense affair.
