A mixture of significant outgoings and some top quality additions has raised many eyebrows. Can Arsenal’s January transfer window be considered successful?

Arsenal are known for not performing in comparison to their rivals during the transfer window. There has been many times where they’ve seen themselves fall behind their league counterparts by not acquiring talent, however times seem to have changed if Arsenal’s January transfer window is anything to go by.

Going into the transfer window, many will have waited to see how Arsenal deal with Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, who only had months remaining on their contract. The Gunners dealt with this situation well, and didn’t lose their stars only to be left empty-handed, as many would have predicted.

As with every club, the Gunners needed to lose some players, in order to equip for the future. Overall, Arsenal’s January transfer window was well-rounded, and this analysis will focus only on the main talking points.
