Alvaro Morata has suggested the blues signed Marco Asensio

Chelsea are on the verge of parting ways with Italian boss Antonio Conte. After revolutionising the way in which the blues strut their stuff, he has failed to keep up with the heavy competition. That said, the Chelsea board are eager for a major reshuffle, which could include Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio.

It’s clear that in the Premier League, if you want to achieve big things, you have to spend money. Manchester City, who were fresh off a productive Summer transfer window, took the league by storm. The Citizens shifted a lot of ‘dead wood’, which many clubs aren’t wiling to do, and bought in some fresh talents to coincide with Pep Guardiola’s philosophy.

It seems to have been the case for a number of recent seasons; a fresh philosophy which counteracts all other’s in the league will reap the benefits. Antonio Conte himself was an example of this last season, as he reintroduced the idea of playing with three defenders.

However, there has come a time where Chelsea need to refresh. That said, Express have suggested the blues are focusing on the future.

Marco Asensio could be Stamford Bridge bound. While many will look at this as a sign of Eden Hazard’s departure, the outlet claims Chelsea will still pursue the Spaniard, even if they manage to keep Eden Hazard.

Marco Asensio will be travelling to Russia to help his national team, Spain, progress as far as possible in the World Cup. Depending on the magnitude of his performances on the big stage, his valuation could rise. However, Chelsea feel confident they can get the deal over the line by offering Los Blancos a fee of £119m.

This could be a huge investment on Chelsea’s behalf, but also a huge decision for Marco Asensio. Many players have traveled across the pond to play in the Premier League, but failed, the Spaniard will have that going through his mind.
